Axl and Vince Neil could both be out of a job.
Hey Guys,
now that i've spent about 15 hours on act 2 just working on basics (and trouble shooting my POS computer) i've got some rough mixes up and man am I happy with what we got.
I've been fixing certain things as well like the false start on Jenny (867-5309), a missed snare hit on Welcome to the Jungle etc.
You guys R.A.W.K.E.D!!
Performances were awesome and tight as hell.
well done to you all. I'll be giving tidbits for Joni to post as I get them.
Thanks,
Ken
Did you get the email with the other ones, Chris?
Whoa! That sounded fantastic! It sounded awesome live, but this recording is awesome!
Dude..let's hear it for John... He may need a kilt, but he's got all the voice he needs...
Alright, I just listened to the John Hughes clip thirty or forty times...with a blank, unbelieving expression on my face, I'm sure.
At one point during my first playback of the track, I realized that my mouth was, quite literally, hanging wide open.
Having been in the same room as those guys for months on end, and having been ten feet away the night of the show, I was pepared to be impressed, but not stunned. Which I am.
All I can say is this: after embedding the Hughes/BtJ Band version in my head, I then listened to the final 30 seconds of the version on Appetite, and, well, it seems like heresy to say it, but...if Axl needs a band and singer to help him finish up Chinese Democracy...
All I can say is wait till you hear his Vince Niel
I have goosebumps
I'm sittin' here with a big ol' grin on my face, listening to John's Jungle1 scream with headphones cranked, my co-workers wondering if I'm on X or something. Brutal. Just brutal.
This sh*t is LIVE?! Sounds better than any studio rough cut I've ever heard.
This is gonna be mind-blowingly cool.

It's safe to say that John has taken us all to that special place.
I knew he was capable of such a thing. This is why I cast him.
Don't forget the pink shoelaces with hearts. It IS the new metal!
I'll try to have some stuff from Act 1 tonight or tomorrow for you to hear.
I just got started on Act 1 last night so it's still real rough but I think i'll have a little Wild Side action for you soon.
Ken
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That was frickin' awesome!!! My son and I spoke with John for a few after the show and he abso-fuckin'-lutely rocks. It was hard to hear during the show and I didn't know how much he sounded like Axl. Now I am eagerly awaiting my DVD. I think I will get a couch and wait 6 months in line outside Joni's house like the guys did for Star Wars.
yeah,
I would have liked to have had the vocals louder in the front of house mix. But, we were there to make a movie and I got what I needed on the recording.
All you band members, Joni has something for you tonight.....
Mwahahahahahahahahaha
well, that sounded dirty.
What can I say that hasn't been said..? Ken, all the clips sound AWESOME!! I was already proud to have been a part of this thing, now I'm beaming with pride, and anticipation for the final product.. based on these early clips, it will most definitely RAWK!!

The first horns were for the band.
oops
Well, I did wild side a couple nights ago and tonight I spent 5 hours mixing Ice Cream man. It sounds awesome! I did some extra special editing/tweaking to make all the breaks tighter than a nats ass (no offense to any nats that may be reading this)
You're gonna love it. I think i'll be doing a little Ozzy mixing next.
Ken
(Just a thought in anticipation of hearing the NIB.) I think my dress rehearsal version was better than the live show version...Maybe I am just nervous, oh your a pro, I'll just shut up and let you do your Job Ken...Everything is sounding fan-fucking-tastic so far.
\m/ Rock on
I just listened to the Wild side clip and it gave me the chills.
"The international brotherhood of roooock." God that lines fantastic. Yeah! Fuck yeah!
Jairus,
have you heard the Ozzy mix yet? You my friend are a God Like Ozzy.
Yo are more Ozzy than Ozzy. You're so Ozzy you don't even know how Ozzy you are!!!!

Ken, I have now heard the Ozzy, and yes I was quite pleased with it. I had a few of my friends huddled around me when I listened to it and they were equally enthusiastic.
Thanks for the nice words.
I am surprised I got the part after hearing the horrible version I did on Ricks show. Well it wasn't horrible, it was just a huge contrast to what you produced.
Very happy, very excited about it.
